Jason:
Ok Tom tell us all alittle bit about yourself
Tom:
Wow, where to start. Well I'm in a wierd way right now, in just a few
short days I'm gonna be leaving on a jetplane to lovely Los Angeles, to
start my career. So I'm kind of in this peaceful mindset, I'm not nervous
at all. Almost like accepting death, but more like a rebirth. Phoenix
rising from the ashes kind of thing. I'm leaving a lot of things behind,
good and bad, but I'm excited, overall.
Jason:
What made you decide to go to LA I mean you grew up in CT and went to
school in Boston always thought you were more east coast
Tom:
Well to be honest, I've always felt a huge pull to LA. Ever since I was
a kid, I've always wanted to be there. The closest I've been was Phoenix,
I was born there, but that's as far west as I have been. My mom jokes
around, cuz she was pregnant with me when she went out to Cali, so she
maintains that I've been out there. Perhaps that's why it's calling me,
I liked it when I was there. But I think LA is my dream place. My childhood
was spent in New Mexico, till I was 10, then my teen years in CT, and
now my college years in Boston. So I have a soft inside with a hard outer
shell. I can be aggressive and kick ass but still be nice. I think I'll
do well out in LA.
Jason:
How did you get involved with making films? I also heard something about
some killer POKEMON
movie
Tom:
Hahah. Well my dream is to make music videos, direct, produce, whatever
I can do, I just am in love with them. The fusion of music with image,
just drives me nuts. But music videos are probably one of the last true
mediums of creative experimentation. You have the ability to goof around,
and usually the wierder the better. I'm a New Media major at my school,
which is bascially any and all kinds of media, so I've made it a point
to spread myself out as much as possible in those fields. As far as that
Pokemon film, that actually was my first student film. Just Another Dream
Sequence, it's on my site (www.evilzug.com)
under JADS. I did everything except turn on the camera.
Jason:
What are you currently listening to?
Tom:
I'm on a big Lords of Acid kick. Now that I'm single I have pent up 'opression'
that I need to get out, and Lady Velour and the like drive me nuts. Xmas
eve I dropped fifty bux on 4 cds. Now that I have wheels, I've been burning
my own CDs and making good mixes. I've been trying to find true 'Cyberpunk'
songs, Fear Factory, God Lives Underwater, it's an interesting situation.
Plus I'm at a big transtion in my life now, so every song I hear really
strikes me. Even the corny stuff. I found my passion and fuel, so I'm
a bit of an aesthetic now.
Jason:
Over the summer you studied in Prague (sp?) how did that come about?
Tom:
Well my school has a summer film study in Prague. Bascially it's a month
long intensive film study where you go to class for a long time every
day and talk about film with Czech dudes. It actually came out to be a
lot easier then it was built up to be and was more of a lesson in cultueral
differences and how to work with people. It was an amazing experience,
Prague is such an amazing city. So beautiful. The alcohol is cheap, too,
if your into that kind of thing. A glass of the best beer in the world,
.5L, like twenty cents.
Jason:
I think what everyone really wants to know about is the girls there, so
fill us in
Tom:
Ok, the Czech Republic, I think, as a prerequisite for entering the country,
if you are a female you have to be AMAZINGLY HOT. It's a wierd situation.
I saw NO Children, NO elderly people. only hot girls. Everwhere. Perfect
bodies, amazing faces. I swear, I don't get it. They eat like fatty sausage
and goulash all day long. But yeah. I'm a big fan. I wish they all could
be Czech Republic girls...
Jason:
What kind of film did you do while you were over there? I also heard something
about a fellow student filming some chick in a pool and it turns into
some crazy porno
Tom:
hahah yeah. Well our final project was interesting. Their is the big beautiful
astronomical clock in Old Town Square. Every hour this little show comes
out of the clock and aposltes walk around. This little skeleton pulls
on a string and rings the bell on the clock. I got this idea of playing
with time. The film is bascially about a tourist buying a pocket watch,
but it actually ticks backwards. As far as that pool chick story, that
was funny. They had wanted to make this coming-of-age short, with this
young girl exploring her sexuality alone, but then her father walked in
on her however, they got a 22 year old actress and like a 25 year old
actor to play the father, so it ended up looking like a bad porno. They
cross cut all these pictures of magazine-woman with perfect bodies and
turned it into a piece about the objectification of women. Good save.
Jason:
How did you get involved with Project Greenlight ?
Tom:
wow, interesting story. I'll try to keep it simple. Chris Moore, one of
the exectutive producers, came to speak at my school about the industry.
My now ex-girlfriend went and talked to him after he spoke, and to make
a long story short, he ended up offering her a job on the project, as
long as she could get to Chicago, etc etc. She asked if I could tag along,
cuz I'm into the same stuff, and the rest is history. Luckily, I have
a longtime friend who goes to school in Chicago. She has a friend who
let us stay at her place for the month.
Jason:
did you get to meet Ben or Matt ?
Tom:
Nah they actually never set foot in Chicago. Kind of funny, cuz everyone
usually asks that question. They get most of the buzz cuz I guess it's
their money. Not that they weren't busy, they were hacking it up in LA
working the high-end hobnobbing.
Jason:
Whould you have told Ben that some of his recent works have been anything
but good?
Tom:
Oh from what Chris was saying, he knows.Like Reindeer games, they know
it wasn't the most spectacular movie but they have good hearts and are
out to have good times, so hey, good for them.
Jason:
Maybe he should start hitting the bottle again. Ok last question favorite
girl on cam whores , and why
Tom:
Hahaha ok, wow, gimme a second to paroose the options. We're talking to
real ones, not the wanna bes? or overall?
Jason:
both
Tom:
ok
Jason:
I like TOYA
and Venenodulce
Tom:
Yeah she's blazing. I'm a big fan of the 'normal' girls like Sammie, Goobita/Laurita/Larua
and Perfeckt,
that are just hot and don't have to show tits to get hits. But then again
I like me some V, she's got amazing amazing eyes that you can just fall
into for years and years. Sunny is hot but who knows, judging from her
site she might overly friendly. Szeretlek is HOT. AgentAeon is nice, She's
a CyberpunkGrrl, so I have a soft spot. I'm gonna have to settle on Perfekt,
thoug, cuz she's the best evar.
Jason:
So if she was to read this interview what would you like to say to her?
Tom:
Well I've sent her a few emails. I know what it's like to have a busy
site, and all, and get tons of emails, so my name is a drop in the bucket
to her. I guess I would say that I appreciate her 'reality,' and I'm glad
she's not a camwhore. She sounds like she'd be chill, and I'm glad she's
generally happy.
Jason:
any last shout outs?
Tom:
Hm. I have quite a crew so I'm sure if I were to beep a few people, everyone
else would get pissed. I'm just gonna go ahead and yell like mad to all
my fans who love and support the site, especially the single hotties who
are over 18. Hahahah.
Jason:
do you wanna expand on the single hotties over 18 part?
Tom:
hahahah. Well I don't want to sound like a piggish player, so I retract
it. I'm just single after a long, bad relationship, and I'm back on the
scene, I guess.
